After the Slasher film bust of the early 80’s did the artform evolve or devolve with the resurgence of the 90’s?

About The Author

I am a harsh film critic with no sense of subtlety or tact. I tend to love non-mainstream films, not out of a sense of ‘rebellion’ or non-conformity but out of the sense that most of what is popular is shit and that by definition the mainstream will be MAINSTREAM and therefore useless. I am easily approachable and I love to hear feedback from people, both positive (lies) and negative (truth) so please, call me out on the stupid shit I say and do.

::Reads title:: Ooh, this will be an especially interesting episode.

Potential definition for a slasher film: Any movie with multiple murders where a couple having sex is brutally killed &/or a freak/undead man/guy/inhuman in a mask is chasing a woman with a stabbing/slashing object.

Most of the movies I’ve seen listed as “psychological thriller” were action/mystery movies with horror elements that didn’t quite qualify as horror.
